Flutter Prediction and Control of Flexible Aircraft
发布时间:2024-04-29 发布者: 浏览次数:

Abstract: Recent advances in structure technology have stimulated various new aircraft configurations, such as a flying wing aircraft for stealth purpose, a solar aircraft with extremely high span-chord ratio for energy saving, and a morphing aircraft for multiple flight missions. Those new aircraft feature very flexible structures and give rise to tough problems of dynamics and control, including nonlinear flutters and their active suppressions. This lecture presents how to model a flexible aircraft and to predict its nonlinear flutter in a frame of multi-body system dynamics and unsteady aerodynamics first. Then, it demonstrates how to simplify the high dimensional model of an aero-elastic problem for flutter control via data-driven techniques embedded with mechanics knowledge. Afterwards, the lecture deals with the body-freedom flutter control of a flying wing aircraft. Finally, it outlines some open problems in aero-servo-elasticity.

Biography: Dr. Haiyan Hu is Professor of Mechanics with School of Aerospace Engineering, Beijing Institute of Technology. He used to be President of that university from 2007 to 2017 and President of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Aeronautics from 2001 to 2007.

Prof. Hu has made recognized contributions to the dynamics and control of aerospace structures, in particular, the nonlinear dynamics of controlled structures, the deployment dynamics of large space structures, and the flutter control of aircraft structures.
